Investing in a bright tomorrow…
Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their highest potential in the classroom and beyond
Your donation to the Bellingham Public Schools Foundation provides the direct support that kids, teachers, and families need to thrive throughout the school day and beyond.
STEM education is a critical part of preparing students for the future, so we are committed to supporting STEM from kindergarten through graduation.
We provide tools and equipment for our littlest learners, enrichments across grade levels, and yearly funding for hands-on learning so that our students can learn experientially and in the field.
Arts and music enrich our students’ connections with their education. We fund a range of supports, such as classroom grants, curriculum aids, assistance for concerts and productions, and the purchase and maintenance of hundreds of instruments, all in service of Bellingham students’ engagement with arts curriculum.
Our funding helps provide crucial mental health supports for students in our community.
We help provide counseling for high school students dealing with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and all kinds of trauma.
For our younger students, we fund supplies and resources to enhance social emotional learning in the classroom and on the playground, building students’ resilience and building community.
Did you know more than 30% of students in Bellingham qualify for free lunch and nearly 8% will be homeless at some point this year?
Its impossible to be at your best for learning when you are hungry, tired, cold or sick. To try and make sure every student is ready to learn, we directly help hundreds of families every year with basic necessities like food, housing, clothing and medication.
Student & Educator Testimonials
“What a wonderful way to start the day! These 4th graders have come out of their shells, met new friends, engaged in problem solving, building activities, and art. I have seen masks come off, students show up on time more regularly, and more students branching out to others. So many 4th graders for so many years will benefit from having such a wide variety of enticing ways to start their day and learn a wide range of social skills.
We are so grateful! Thank you!”
