It’s A Yes: February Yes Cards

Yes Cards are the simplest way to provide kids and their families with money or resources. We’re able to quickly hand amounts (up to $100) to those in our district with immediate needs.

It’s a great way for teachers and staff to easily address the challenges they see every day: An third-grader who is coming to school with too-small shoes, a high schooler who has reported a lack of food, a middle school student who can’t join a team because they can’t afford the mandatory gear.

To see what kind of things we cover on a regular basis, here’s a quick overview of (some!) of our Yes Card requests over the past few weeks:

  • 15 requests for food support, in the form of groceries or vouchers
  • 11 requests for clothing, for both basic and weather-appropriate needs
  • 8 requests for hygiene and personal care resources, including soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, and other hygiene products
  • 10 requests for sports gear, including shoes, cleats, pads, and other athletic equipment

But remember: Every request has a real story behind it.

Can my student have nice clothes to fit in at a dressy school concert?

Can we give her a comfortable bra that fits?

Can we give some gas money to help a displaced family make it into school every day?

Can we shop for some volleyball pads that let them participate in a sport – and also provides another hour of safety outside an unstable home?

With your donations, we can say yes to all these stories.
